Just Like Home
Whitemarsh House first began treating individuals with psychiatric illnesses in 1977. By the mid 1980’s, we were one of the first programs in the state of Pennsylvania to begin working with individuals with brain injury.
The Whitemarsh House mission is to provide a fully accredited, comprehensive rehabilitation and community integration program for residents living with traumatic brain injury, acquired brain injury, cerebral aneurysm, stroke, brain tumor, mental health diagnoses and/or other neurological conditions. Our programs are designed to be person-centered, flexible and supportive of every care need for all residents. Our goal is to provide our resident community with a therapeutic, home-like environment. Each resident joins a team of therapists and clinicians to develop, implement, monitor and review their own individualized treatment program. At Whitemarsh House, we remain ever mindful of an individuals’ capability to meet his or her expressed goals by carefully considering each person’s strengths, needs and preferences with utmost respect.
Each resident’s needs are meticulously assessed from which a personalized care plan is developed, consistently implemented and carefully monitored. Appropriate training is given in life skills, vocational training, behavior management and recreation.
